Les Terrasses is part of a larger finca (ranch) imagined by its French owner Françoise Pialoux almost decades ago from a single vacation house that evolved into a larger ten-room property that's a popular setting for fashion shoots by glossy European mags like Cote Sud and Figaro. An earthy stucco façade with colorful blue trimmed windows feels more country home than beach retreat, despite the fact that some of Ibiza's chicest beach club are just a moped ride away.
The property sprawls amongst a natural vegetation of squatty palm trees and dense shrubbery juxtaposed to manicured lawn that enwraps a rectangular pool within a walled garden exploding with bougainvillea. A small boutique sells earthenware, local pottery and bedazzled jewelry to perfect that Balearic look personally or at home. To simply check-in and hole-up in your room at Les Terrasses would be to miss the true intentions of the hotel. 5pm cocktails are often taken with the owner and her various friends that share stories of the island and its quirky inhabitants as well as underground foodie finds at off-the-radar restaurants. Afterwards, it's dinner within the interior dining room with its exposed log-fireplace or outside on the courtyard with its starlight canopy and edible treasures of homemade breads, fresh seafood-stuffed raviolis and grilled meats.
The Room
A total of just 10 rooms are arranged in a cozy French décor enwrapped in simple concrete or rustic wood floors with vaulted ceilings and walls of garden windows that face the finca or more private outdoor spaces. Well-tucked beds in upgraded linens face integrated lounges of simple seating areas. Exquisite wood detailing on wardrobes and retractable bathroom doors include or conceal wet rooms with stylish modern tile detailing. All rooms offer furnished terrace or balconies that overlook or open to small-planted gardens or wider landscape views.
